Coconut Sugar
Coconut Sugar
Coconut Sugar and Palm Sugar are two distinct types of sugar that are obtained in different ways and different plants. While some of it comes from the buds of the tree’s flowers or date palm, others are made from the sap of tree’s trunk. It is a natural sugar extract from the sugary circulating fluid of the tree. Farmers tap the sap by cutting tree’s flower-bud stem, date palm, or even trunk to collect its nectar. Mix the sap, boil into a syrup, dried and crystallize. The final product is brown and granular.
Coconut Sugar is a sweetener made from the sap of flowers of coconut tree (Cocos Nucifera). It is lighter brown in colour and more butterschotch earthy flavor.
Palm Sugar is a sweetener gotten from the sap of date palm (Arenga Pinnata). It is darker brown in colour and caramel flavor.
Both can be used as a one-to-one substitute for white and brown sugar. Popular sweetener in any vegan diet recipes for food and drink as it is plant-based natural sweetener and minimally processed.
